Scholarships

Private scholarships are the ideal way to pay for college. They are awarded for many different things including academic excellence, volunteer work, or ethnic background. Most scholarships require that the student maintain some minimum grade point average. Provided the student meets the requirements for the scholarship, it's FREE MONEY! There are many scholarships that are offered, but aren't awarded because students don't apply for them. There is an abundance of small scholarships that are simply overlooked. Keep in mind that receiving scholarships that award a few hundred dollars each can really add up. Apply for all scholarships that you might be eligible for, even the ones that seem a far reach. If you're the only student that applies you have a better chance of getting it! Consider it a scavenger hunt for free money.
